GENERAL QUESTIONS:
What type of camera do you use? I use this Canon Rebel and love it! I usually use the stock lense but occassionally I grab this lense for my more detailed shots.
What editing software do you use for you photos? I use Photoshop Elements 8 for every photo that you see. I adjust the layers and always tweak the brightness and contrast.
What do you use to record your videos? I use iMovie that came standard on my MacBook Pro.
What are you favorite scrapbooking products. The products that I turn to most often are my gold embossing powders, Stampin' Up! dimensional adhesive, patterned paper, and enamel dots for embellishments!
What do you use to print your photos? I use my Canon Selphy and can't imagine memory keeping without it. It's portable and easy to use and it has been a gamechanger for Project Life for sure! I always order this refill set.
What sewing machine do you use? I own a Brother XL2600I sewing machine. It was the first sewing machine that I have ever owned and was super simple to set up and use. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a way to add sewing to you pages.
PROJECT LIFE:
What is Project Life? You can read all about Becky Higgins and Project Life here. I highly recommend that you click that link pronto because this idea of memory keeping will blow your mind.
How long have you used Project Life for your memory keeping? I started using Project Life in 2010. I heard about this particular system of memory keeping while watching a video on YouTube and decided to try it out. At the time Becky Higgins only offered one kit and so I ordered it and immediately fell in love with the idea of a photo a day with journaling. I quickly adapted it to meet my needs and documented on a monthly basis and to-date these are some of my favorite albums. I keep up with Project Life and still scrapbook regular 12x12 layouts.
What are your favorite Project Life products? The last 3 years of Project Life are stored in these binders and used Design A page protectors, this year I switched to a Simple Stories 6x8 binder with the 3x4 page protectors and these page protectors to change things up and I love it! You can find the page protectors I use here. I also subscribe to Studio Calico's Project Life monthly kit and highly recommend it. I use the Flea Market mini kit and the Cut and Paste mini kit as well.
Why did you decided to quit Project Life at one time? Right after having my first baby girl Project Life was becoming more of a job than something I enjoyed. I decided that the system wasn't working for me and took a hiatus from it. You can hear all about it here. It had nothing to do with how awesome the products are or Becky Higgins, it was strictly a personal decision.
What brought you back? To make a long story short, I found a system that work for me and I realized how much I missed it. My Project Life are some of my favorite albums to look through and share with others and I couldn't image letting that part of my memory-keeping go.
What do you do when you get really, really, behind? In 2012 I got six months behind in Project Life. I got completely caught up in a week. You can go here to see how I did it.
MY FAVORITE BLOGS:
Who are your favorite bloggers. I don't have a large amount of time for reading blogs but the ones that I read every day are:
Carrie Elias: I have had the opportunity to work alongside Carrie and she has become a great friend. I love her photography style and she has mad layering skills on her scrapbooking pages!
Elise Blaha Cripe: If you have spent anytime around the world of lifestyle blogs you are no stranger to this lovely lady who knows how to get stuff done! She constantly inspires me.
Ali Edwards: This woman never ceases to amaze me with the grace that she shows as she goes through life. She is the perfect example of someone who is taking time to stop and enjoy her life and document it for her family; all the stuff, good and bad.
Erin from Sunny Side Up: This California gal's blog was one of the first blogs I actually 'followed'. She writes about organization and just finished building her gorgeous new home and shares lots of photos!
Jami Nato: This girl is just straight-up hilarious and completely real. She writes about family, the truth about having a special needs child, her husband's affair and wraps it all up in the love of Jesus with lots of sarcasm thrown in! I find myself cracking up and tearing up everytime I read a new post!
Emily Anderson: best friend to Jami Nato, this blog is another family and lifestyle blog full of inspiration about God, family, adoption, and the trials of life.
and of course, A Beautiful Mess: Another familiar name in blog-land, if you are looking for a fun DIY idea or a yummy recipe, here is the place to go!
WHAT'S ALL THIS TALK ABOUT JESUS?
I believe that God is the creator of the universe, that He did it in just 6 days and that He loves us and sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so that one day we can live with Him in Heaven instead of spending Eternity in Hell. I will talk about Him until I am blue in the face because of all the amazing things He has done in my life. I would love to share more about His amazing love with you, all you have to do is ask!
