October is the best month. It's the time when the air turns crisp, leaves change colors, pumpkin spice lattes come back, and everything seems to begin to slow down. October is my favorite month of the year at school because the kids are finally nestled into their routines and we haven't began the frantic race towards end of year testing yet. October speaks the word calm to me: pumpkin carving, our favorite donuts at a local farm by our house, corn mazes...magic. It's the time of the year when I am encouraged to spend a little bit more time outside because the cool days are coming more frequently and reminding me that the cold will be here sooner rather than later. I get to wear scarves in October. Festivals are popping up all around us and each weekend we try to make it to at least one. October is a reset for me creatively as well. I have costumes to make, and I am already planning my Christmas cards so that I can be done with them by the first week in December.
Hello October...I've been looking so forward to seeing you.
*I apologize for my absence around here the last few months. Thank you to everyone who has contacted me asking me if everything was okay. Life is going great, just crazy busy. School is back in session full swing and I am also taking some graduate classes myself so my time for this space and anything crafting related has been put on hold. I can't promise anything consistent but I do hope to pop over when I can because I have lots of exciting (for me, anyway) things to share with you. In the meantime I love hearing from you! I read each of your comments and emails and try to respond when I can.
Have a wonderful October!
